
Recent discoveries in the UK show that thick jewelry has always been fashion – Ancient Rome.
In a Facebook post on May 8th, Wessex Archeology announced the discovery of the rare eight-sided ring.
In a statement, authorities said Lincoln was found in a former drainage in Lincolnshire, a predominantly rural county in East Midlands.

Historians say that the “unlucky owner” of the ring lost a 410 year jewel from 200 to 410 AD.
“You can imagine their frustration when they glance at their naked hands, over a thousand years ago, one of our field staff, Tim, unearthed what was once familiar to the original wearer,” the statement added.

“Thank you to your careless ancestors!” it pointed out.

The organization also said that eight-sided Roman rings are rarely found in the UK, but similar artifacts had been dug before.

“This particular type of ring has eight distinctive aspects, a rare find in the UK, but it’s not completely unprecedented,” says Wessex Archeology.

“They were sometimes made of precious metals, but more often copper alloys, as in this case,” the post added.
“By the time this ring slipped off its owner’s fingers, the Romans were established in England.”
