“It’s a deep sadness that we are reporting the news that our beloved friend and bandmate Clem Burke has passed away following our private battle with cancer,” the caption read.

His vibrant spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and rock’s solid work ethic touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. ”

Burke joined Blondie in 1975 and was featured on all of the band’s albums.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of Blondie.
