Trump suggested that lower tariffs would go ahead ahead of a weekend talk between Switzerland’s Bescent and chief trade negotiator Jamieson Greer and the emperor of China’s economy.
“That’s the number the president has thrown there, and see what happens this weekend,” White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt said during a press conference on Friday, adding that Trump should not unilaterally lower tariffs and that China should make “concessions.”
