
The US military will control strips of federal lands that span three states along the tropical border to stop illegal immigration. President Donald Trump I said.
Memorandum of understanding: “Military Mission” Seals the southern border To repel the United States and invasion “to the secretaries of defense, internal, agriculture, homeland security,” and to provide use and jurisdiction by the Department of Defense through such federal land, including the reservations of federal India reasonably necessary to enable military operations.”
He writes that it can include “construction and detection of border barriers and placement of surveillance equipment.”

“Our southern borders are under attack from various threats,” Trump wrote in the memorandum. “The complexity of the current situation requires our military to play a more direct role in securing a southern border than in the recent past.”
Federal land, consisting of narrow, 60-foot-deep strips at the border within the Roosevelt reservation, becomes a “military facility” designated as a “defense area” where “military activities” occur.

The Roosevelt Reservation covers California, New Mexico and Arizona, and was designated as federal land by Theodore Roosevelt in 1907, keeping the borders safe.
“The memorandum of understanding will allow the Secretary of Defense to determine the appropriate military activities reasonably necessary and appropriate to achieve its mission to keep borders safe.”
