Justin Rose is focusing on winning the RBC legacy at Hilton Head Island this week, but would lie if he said he was totally outweighing the one he fell at Augusta National Golf Club last weekend.
Rose was competing for his first career green jacket Masterand he hit a deep birdie putt on the 72nd hole of the tournament to put pressure on Rory McIlroy after finishing 11 under.
McIlroy missed him Put On the 18th Green to force the playoffs, Rose was in 2017 with Sergio Garcia. Unfortunately for Rose, the results were the same.

McIlroy completed his career grand slam by defeating Rose in the playoff hole and winning the 89th edition of the tournament, as Garcia did.
Rose spoke with reporters on RBC’s legacy on Wednesday.
“A lot of positive comments have spilled out of people coming to me, so I’m trying to absorb that and absorb the week,” Rose said. “But at the same time, I just look at my phone and hope there’s another message there.”
Justin Rose responds to the results of the last two major tournaments: “It hurts.”
When Rose fell to McIlroy, his bounty of defeat was the same as golf fans saw when Garcia defeated Rose in 2017. Garcia tied Rose that year.
After a green jacket seal putt, McIlroy rose from his knees, he approached Rose, and the two gave a strong embrace. Rose knew how much victory meant for McIlroy’s career, becoming the sixth golfer to complete a career grand slam.
But it was also Rose’s 20th master without winning the green jacket. He approached the past and after hitting that birdie putt to give him a chance, he looked ready for his jacket.

On the playoff hole, he put pressure on McIlroy twice on a great drive from the 18th tee in the middle of the fairway, and his approach shot gave him a good birdie.
However, McIlroy put ice into his vein, bombing his drive, spinning it from the slope behind the hole, then placing his approach within two feet. Rose tried the birdie look but curled too far to the right and he tapped for par. McIlroy didn’t miss this time.
“I don’t know what the correct words are,” Rose said when asked to explain how she felt about Masters Week. “Perhaps it was tormented by the idea of what happened.”
Rose’s golf career doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon. He turns 45 in July and one day he wants his own green jacket.
