Augusta National is already a difficult course that is hard enough to play with good lies. Adding mud ball wrinkles adds an even more difficult degree to the iron shots on the famous course.
“There are fewer (mud balls) than usual, but I still had them in those holes today. I had them in those holes,” Spieth said. “It’s something that definitely pays attention to the leader group because it affects it a lot, so it affects it so much, so when you’re usually random, you have to play far from trouble when you do it, or lay up. And if you’re on the wrong side of the hole, you can hardly make it out of the water or you’re almost dependent on the hole.”
