Christie Brinkley tried everything she could to keep her marriage to Billy Joel alive.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Brinkley talked about her memoir, “Uptown Girl.” Marriage for almost 10 years Music icon.
In her memoir, Brinkley wrote about Joel’s drinking issue being a “other woman” in marriage.

“To be clear, I didn’t want to finish things with Billy. I went to see a series of psychiatrists, psychologists and other doctors together.
Christie Brinkley is “open” to find love, but laments that there is no choice: “No one looks there.”
“I did everything for marriage. I always worked to make myself, our home and everything around us what he wanted and wanted.
“But his drinking was greater than both of us. Booze was another woman and he was beginning to appear to have preferred to be with ‘her’ than me,” Brinkley wrote.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Brinkley shared that Joel met her and his ex-girlfriend Elle Macpherson on the same night. Joel dated MacPherson for a short time before getting serious with Brinkley.
“El and I met Billy the same night. It was a night when I thought I wanted to be friends with this guy forever, but there were other things going on in my life, but I wanted to protect him as a friend. We should hit it right away.

She continued. And as he came back to my life, he was so wonderful, I began to see him differently. And I think it was really great to start with friendship and evolve that friendship into a completely romantic adventure. ”
The title of Brinkley’s memoir appears to nod to Joel’s 1983 “Uptown Girl.” He admitted to writing for Brinkley.

In 2010, Joel finally confirmed that “Uptown Girl” was written about Brinkley (she appeared in the music video), but he explained that there is more in the story.
“When I first started writing songs, I wasn’t dating Christie, I was dating Elle [Macpherson]“Joel is “Shared” and “Howard Stern Show.” “He recalls the moment he was surrounded by Brinkley, McPherson and Whitney Houston while working on the song.
“That’s why I started writing a song called ‘Uptown Girls’. It was multiple. I couldn’t believe I was there.

Joel said the nature of the song changed due to his relationship with Brinkley as he and MacPherson went their separate ways. “Then I started dating Christie. [being] For all these different girls, she became “Uptown Girls.” I started writing about it about one person. ”

Brinkley and Joel got married between 1985 and 1994 when the model filed for divorce, and the couple share a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel. Brinkley told Fox News Digital that ending his marriage to Joel would not be easy.
“Well, when the kids are involved, you may get those ideas, but it’s not easy to leave. And leaving Billy wasn’t easy. So it took a while, but at some point there was just too many one incident.

Since then, both models and musicians have been on the way. In 1994, Brinkley was temporarily married to Richard Taubman. She was married Peter Cook From 1996 to 2008. They have two children together.

Joel married Katie Lee in 2004 just to split up in 2009. He is currently married to Alexis Roderick. The couple has two daughters.
Brinkley has not given up on her hopes of finding romance again in her life.

“Love is the strongest in the whole world and I think we are surrounded by love,” she told Fox News Digital. “There are many types of love: love for our friends, love for our families, love for nature, love for those who protect nature.”
“I feel like my life is full of love, so I think romantic love will come into it.
Brinkley’s “Uptown Girl” memoirs hit the shelf on April 29th.
