Washington Commander Managing Partner Josh Harris is ready to bring his team back to the Washington, DC area.
However, the team’s name remains here.
The commander announced the agreement to build a new stadium on the grounds of Washington’s old RFK Stadium, with nostalgia and Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Cheeman recounting the video.

However, as Harris explained to Brett Byer, the name Redskins will not return. “Special Report.”
“The commander’s name actually carries an incredible kind of element in our building,” Harris responded to Bayer’s question about the name of the Redskins who will return as part of this new stadium deal. “So the commander and Jaden people who are tough, and have been entrusted with certain kinds of players who love football. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser announced it. Columbia Regional Government The commander’s executives have signed a contract to return to the RFK Stadium site. This is currently pending approval from the DC City Council.
Legislature lawmakers supported Harris returning to the old stadium site, provided that the team and the NFL respect the old Redskins logo. R-Mont. Senator Steve Daines said he will support future organizations with that plan after “honest negotiations” with both entities.

“We were calling for leaders if they really were, but it was wrong to wake up,” Daines said in November. “The irony was that Native American culture was cancelled when the Day movement was too advanced. This honors the Blackfeet Chief born in Montana. He is highly respected. The Blackfeet tribe of Montana, their current chairman and tribal council signed with strong support to gain strong support to regain the logo.
“We have a good discussion with the NFL and the commander. We are sincerely in negotiations that will allow us to use this logo again. Probably going to a foundation that can help Native Americans in sports. We made a decision yesterday on the committee to support this bill.”
Harris told Bayer he hopes construction begins in 2027, with the first day targeting 2030.

Baier also asked if the RFK Stadium remains the name despite being a new stadium.
“We’re going to get as close to our legacy as possible, right? So I think the name should be part of it,” replied Harris.
