North Carolina tar heels Soccer coach Bill Belichick broke the silence Wednesday after a television interview sparked a backlash against him and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
Belichick appeared on “CBS News Sunday Morning” and was asked about how he and Hudson met. Belichick was promoting a new book that described Hudson as a “creative muse.” Naturally, a few questions came up about their relationship. When interviewer Tony Docpile asked how they met, Hudson shut down the question.

The interaction caused a massive repulsion against the couple. Belichick tried to invalidate it all in his statement.
“I agreed to talk to ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ and promoted my new book, ‘The Art of Winning – My Life in My Life in Football.’ Before this interview I clearly communicated with a spokesperson for Simon & Schuster that I would agree that any promotional interviews I attended would focus solely on the content of the book,” he said.
Belichick said he was “shocked” to ask questions about his relationship and when Hudson stepped in, she was at work. He went on to accuse CBS of using what is called “selectively edited clips” to create “fake tales.”

“Unfortunately, those expectations were not respected during the interview. I was surprised when an unrelated topic was introduced. I repeatedly expressed my comment to reporter Tony Docpile and producers who wanted to focus their conversations on the book,” he said. “After this happened several times, Jordon, who shares both personal and professional relationships, repeated the points to focus on the discussion, she worked to get the interviews off the ground rather than diverting specific questions or topics.
“The final eight-minute segment doesn’t reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had. It covers a wide range of topics related to my career. Instead, I present selectively edited clips and stills from a few minutes of interviews to suggest false stories.
Fox News Digital reached out to CBS for comment.
