Large tech companies are discussing pressure on censorship accounts
President Donald Trump has won a $24.5 million settlement from YouTube over the suspension of his account’s platform following the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.
The Alphabet-owned company is the last of three major social media platforms sued Trumpalongside meta and Twitter, now called X, resolve all claims related to his removal.
According to a court filing obtained by Fox News Digital, the $22 million settlement will be donated on Trump’s behalf to the National Mall trust. White House State Ballroom.
According to the filing, the Alphabet will pay $2.5 million to other plaintiffs, including the American Conservative Party, author Naomi Wolf and several individuals.

The deal concludes a series of famous legal battles Trump launched against Big Tech after being banned from multiple platforms.
As the Wall Street Journal first reported, Meta reached a $25 million settlement in early 2025, but X reportedly paid $10 million.
YouTube suspended Trump’s channel on January 12, 2021, saying his content violated policies against inciting violence.

The channel was revived in March 2023. Trump’s lawsuit violated his initial right to amend, claiming that the ban was unconstitutional.

Trump’s lead lawyer, John P. Kore, emphasized Trump’s role in accelerating the settlements, as he returned to the White House. “If he hadn’t been re-elected, we would have been in court for a thousand years,” Kore said according to the Wall Street Journal.
A Google spokesman confirmed the settlement with Fox News Digital, pointing out the submission as an official response.
