WWE Star MIZ will be one of the 36th field golfers in the prestigious American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Golfers start practicing with Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course July 9-13 at South Lake Tahoe, located on the California-Nevada border.
Mike Mizanin’s real name, Miz, told Fox News Digital in a recent interview that he hopes to bounce at this year’s event after finishing towards the field last year.

“I’m focused on doing well at ACC, so I started a golf YouTube channel called ‘Miz Golf’. Literally, you’re doing the best and best training. George Gunkas, James leadbetter.
“My understanding of the game has gotten much better… I know what to do. It’s applying those rules more and getting people and people and people.
“So I’m very confident and very comfortable. I’m going out there. I’m going to beat Charles Berkley this year. I’m not going to be on the tail edge as I normally do on Sundays. I’m at least going to be in the middle of the pack.”
The ACC Field is packed with famous athletes and actors, from Stephen Curry and Tony Romo to Colin Jost and Ley Romano. The average Joe can easily play with anyone seen on the basketball court.
In Miz’s case, most of the pressure he feels comes from the crowd and the TV cameras.

“I feel pressure from the audience,” he said, explaining that when he goes golfing on a regular course over the weekend, no one usually sees him. “There are thousands of people here (at Edgewood), so when they announce your name like your Tiger Forest, you get an adrenaline rush.
“And you can’t even feel the club in your hands as you get up there and your adrenaline is on your way. Your nerves are on the way.
Charles Barkley is usually one of the former athletes who joined the field. He finished 58th last year between Gary Sheffield and celebrity chef Bobby Frey.
Miz recalls when he played for the ACC and paired him with Berklee.
“Everyone told me, ‘Hey, at least you’re going to defeat Charles, right? At least you’re going to defeat Charles, right?” Miz recalled to Fox News Digital. “Charles doesn’t play golf the way you saw it on YouTube. That was a long time ago. He trained. His swing is incredible. I watched Charles Barkley hit the ball.
“So I walked up and down the course and was only threatened by Charles Berkley, and everyone said I was going to defeat him, but it’s a moment in my heart.”
Overall, Miz is looking forward to the tournament as Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course ranks in the top five golf courses he played.
The tournament also raises funds for local and national charities. This event is a 54-hole Stableford format, where golfers earn points for each hole based on their score. The golfer who earns the most points wins.

Last year, former tennis star Mardy Fish won the tournament. Stephen Curry was the winner of 2023 Golden State Warriors The star will return to the field in July.
