Indiana Fever Guard Sophie Cunningham claimed he had a sexual relationship with Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury CEO Josh Bartelstein.
The allegations were mentioned in a lawsuit filed by former Suns employee Jean Trailer. Who is suing? Suns Legacy Partners, LLC, is suspected of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
According to the lawsuit, Trailer told Bartelstein that another employee was spreading gossip about a married executive linked to Cunningham.

The former Mercury player issued a statement Wednesday.
“I am deeply saddened by the recent false accusations made against me by Gene Trailer.
“I compete here, play basketball at the highest level and win for the team and the fans, while inspiring other women what they can and dream of dreaming about.
“I was always told the truth in the media that reported this and (a) was transparent in the press inquiries. In this example, I feel that I have not been asked to comment on the accusations before some clickbait stories were printed.

Sands denied the incident in a statement from Senior Vice President of Communications Stacey Mitch, calling it “completely false and morally condemned.”
The team accused Trailer’s lawyer Shelley of including “a shameful lie and forgery in the complaint.”
