Page Booker In the middle of her college career at UConn Huskies, she lamented the lack of black women she received in sports at the 2021 ESPY Awards, which she caught national attention.
Almost four years later, Bueckers added that black women are not receiving adequate coverage from the media and that whites are benefiting more from marketing opportunities.

“That’s still a problem, every day,” the Dallas Wings rookie said. Time Magazine In an interview released on Monday. “There’s no even coverage.”
“Every day I see there’s a white privilege,” she said regarding the marketing opportunities. “I feel like I’m working so hard and I’m blessed with God. But I think there are more opportunities for me. People tend to prefer white people, white men, white women. I think it should be an equal opportunity.
Bueckers is set to become one of the next generation of basketball stars to guide the WNBA into the future.

“I definitely have the privilege,” Clark said on Netflix, “I don’t need to introduce to my next guest.”
“I’m obviously white, but I’m… a person who grew up being a huge fan of this league. I grew up watching this league, going to the games and supporting this league, so I know where this league came from.
“A lot of black women who grew up making this league. It’s like the shoulders we stand on. So, I think that’s something I know so much and I’m very grateful for. And they definitely deserve all the credit and we can do better for them.
Indiana Fever The star said she has “privileged” in her interviews for months after several of her league colleagues expressed her belief that race played a factor in her popularity.
“I want to say I’ve acquired everything, but as a white person I have the privilege,” Clark told time. “A lot of the players in the league that were really good were black players, and this league is built on top of them.

“The more you can emphasize that and talk about it, the more you can then continue to invest this league in brands and businesses with incredible players. I think that’s very important. We have to keep trying to change that. If we can raise black women, it’s beautiful.”
