Well, Shelton and Hijikata returned to court early Friday to finish the match – and it took a minute to do so as Shelton advanced to the third round.
“It was difficult. At that point we knew we were playing in conditions that were not ideal for tennis. For me, it was, ‘What’s the other game at that point?” Shelton said after the game. For me, I live with it. I came out today and did what I was doing.

Shelton said he wasn’t sure of his plans for the day and debated whether he should practice, considering Friday would be a day off for the 10th-ranked player in the world.
“That’s not true. I warmed up for 30 minutes and then spent a minute on the court. I spent more time preparing than in the actual game,” he said.
