“I spoke to the White House Advisor’s Office about this this morning, apparently because another fraudulent district court judge is trying to stop the administration’s efforts to deport the U.S. with this latest injunction,” Leavitt said. Under the Biden-era program known as the CHNV, immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela were allowed to enter the United States via humanitarian parole after receiving pre-trip approval. The program allowed up to 30,000 citizens per month to enter the country.
Republicans opposed the program and urged the Biden administration to shut it down. Several House members signed a letter to then Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorcas, calling for an end to the CHNV as the United States faced an “unprecedented crisis” at its southern border.
