president Donald Trump After Waltz was expelled from the National Security Council office on Thursday, he tapped former national security adviser Mike Waltz for the UN ambassador.
“We are delighted to announce that we will nominate Mike Waltz as the next U.S. ambassador for the United Nations,” Trump posted on Truth Social Thursday.
“From the days of uniformed on the battlefield, in Congress and as my national security adviser, Mike Waltz worked hard to put our nation’s interests first. He knows he will do the same in his new role.
