The feud between Biles and Gaines has become one of the most viral topics on social media in the last three days, spurring fierce debate and controversial media coverage while dominating X’s top trending section.
Gaines said in a social media video on Saturday that multiple team USA athletes reached out to her and agreed to their attitude towards allowing men in women’s sports.
The feud began when Biles called out to Gaines and had trouble Minnesota High School The softball team won the state championship on Friday as a transgender pitcher.
Transgender athlete Marissa Rothenberger threw a shutout to allow Champlin Park High School to win the state title.
Gaines, host of outkicks “Gaines for Girls” The podcast noted that comments about X were turned off in the Minnesota State High School League post with photos of the team on social media.
“You’re expected when your star player is a boy,” Gaines wrote.
Biles responded, calling Gaines “really sick” for her comments, and saying Gaines should “excite” trans athletes. Biles sent X a second post saying to Gaines that he was “bullying someone of his size.” This is ironically going to be a man.”
Biles has been the subject of widespread criticism by conservatives and women’s sports rights activists.
President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., joined the criticism in a pair of X’s posts.
Other major team USA Sports governing bodies have quietly revised their transgender policies amid rising opposition to transporting women and girls to sports.
