The RR auction said that after the bid ended last week, the iconic bird logo sign sold for $34,375 and sold outside the estimated $40,000 range. The buyer’s name has not been revealed by the auction house, which deals with “rare and collectable items.”
The sign weighed about 560 pounds and measured approximately 12 feet x 9 feet.

The Bird logo was introduced in 2012. Social Media Platforms Until Musk rebranded the platform to X in the summer of 2023 after the billionaire tech executive bought it the year before.
Called “Rally” after the legendary Boston Celtics Larry Bird, the “Rally” featured its standalone Twitter Bird logo as the company’s insignia from 2012 to 2023. This is an 11-year span representing Twitter’s most popular and influential period,” the auction house said on its website.

“Twitter and its Light Blue Bird have retired, but the symbol remains an icon of technology and social media history, an emblem that can be instantly recognised in the same league as Nike and Apple computers,” the website added.
Mask had previously auctioned off other items. What used to be TwitterIncludes items such as signs and souvenirs, kitchen equipment and office furniture.

Other technical history items sold in large sums at auction included an Apple-1 computer with accessories of $375,000, a check signed by Steve Jobs in 1976 for $112,054, and an unstarted first-generation 4GB iPhone for $87,514.
