Scrutiny has increased over Petrose’s Baseball Hall of Fame eligibility after the former Cincinnati Reds star died as president last year Donald Trump His own thoughts on this issue were heavy.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred removed Rose and several other players from the May ineligible list, allowing those athletes to be voted for the Hall of Fame. “The president was one of many voices in support of the idea that this was the right decision,” Manfred said. “Obviously I have respect for the office and the advice I gave him pays attention to me, but there were many other people weighing in on the topic.”
Trump wrote about social in March that he plans to forgive Rose. He and Manfred met in April about Rose’s Hall of Fame candidates.
“Major League baseball didn’t have the courage or the good sense to put Pete Rose, also known as the “Charlie Hustle,” into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Now he is dead. The president wrote.

The effort to get Rose in Cooperstown took a step forward on May 13th.
