Outings happen when Republican senators start trying to pass “Big Beautiful Bill” by Saturday afternoon. The bill has a voluntary deadline of July 4th. In a memo sent to the Senate office on Saturday, the White House approved the latest revision of the bill and sought it to pass, but warned that failing to approve the budget would be “the ultimate betrayal.”
Graham shared his golf outing in a social media post and expressed optimism about voting for the bill.

Republican leaders, different factions within the White House, Senate and House GOP have met to find central positions in other issues, such as fine-tuning the state and local tax (salt) deduction limits.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent has struck the importance of passing Trump’s bill on time. He met with Senate Republicans during the closed lunch and spread the message that the president’s tariffs would go a long way in giving businesses more certainty.

“We need certainty,” he said. “There’s so much uncertainty and having a bill on the president’s desk by July 4th gives us a lot of tax certainty and I think it will accelerate the economy in the third quarter of this year.”
