Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a US fencing investigation following the fencer on Tuesday Stephanie Turner Protest against competition with trans athletes.
Turner kneeled and received the black card, and ultimately led USA Fencing’s trans athlete policy into the spotlight. Paxton said in a statement that officials are considering whether the organization has broken down. Texas State Law.

According to a news release, Paxton’s investigation aims to “discover US fencing-related documents that could be involved in false, deceptive, misleading and misleading behavior.”
“U.S. fencing is on the wrong side of history and potentially on the wrong side of the law due to violations of the Texas Consumer Protection Act,” Paxton said in a statement. “The USA Fencing policy is not only potentially illegal, but it deeply shamed young women like Stephanie Turner, sacrificing countless hours to compete and succeed.
“I fight to stop these unfair policies, and I will never step back from defending the integrity of women’s sports.”

Turner refused to compete with trans competitor Redmond Sullivan at the Maryland Cherry Blossom Open. Turner received a black card for his decision to take his knee and was expelled from the tournament for serious violations and sportsman-like behavior.
“American Fencing didn’t hear women’s objections, so I knew I had to do it. [its gender eligibility policy]”Turner told Fox News Digital in an interview last week. “At that point, I was on my knees. Redmond had the impression that I was about to start fencing. So when I took my knees I looked up at the reference and said, “Sorry, I can’t do this. I’m a woman, this is a man. And this is a women’s tournament. And I don’t do this individual on the fence.”

“USA Fencing remains committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful community for everyone in our sport. We believe in the principle of creating a safe community where all athletes and members of our community have a place,” the statement read.
