Bridgeport Islanders forward Adam Beckman (23) missed the rest of the regular season and left just five games after he was stopped American Hockey League Wednesday’s Player Safety Committee.

“Beckman has been suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 40.3 due to physical abuse of officials (category II),” the committee said in a press release. “Beckman will miss Bridgeport’s final five games in the 2024-25 regular season and the next five games active on the AHL club roster.”
The play took place in the third season of the match Charlotte Checker Saturday.

Beckman was in Charlotte’s zone when he looked like he was slipping over the officials. He then appeared to be protruding out the official rear, which sent him straight down onto the ice and onto the board. The incident elicited a harsh response from the fans present.
Beckman was with the officials as the team trainer came over to check him out. Reports showed officials were able to stand up and continue.

The suspension comes less than a month after Beckman was acquired by the islanders through a deal New Jersey Devils. He registered 33 points for Comet Utica, the Devils affiliate team, before being traded.

Beckman made his debut in the NHL Minnesota Wild October 2021.
