Susan Olsen While filming the first episode of “The Brady Bunch” as Cindy Brady, she revealed she was “almost dead.”
Olsen joined three of her co-stars – Mike Lookinland, Christopher Night And Barry Williams – for a rewatch of “Honeymoon.” They discussed the first day they filmed the iconic pilot episode aired in 1969.
When talking about one of the scenes during a podcast episodeThe Real Brady Brothers“Olsen revealed that there was a close-up shot of Cindy at the end because “I was injured.”
“In the Culver lot, they were shooting something – I think I was in the girl’s bedroom and I was body-make up my legs,” Olsen said. “I was standing on a make-up chair, something on the catwalk, they held all the lights and everything.”

“It first hit the make-up man, [bounced] Stay away from the woman in body make-up and smash me in the face. ”
“If you see, you can say [wedding] The ceremony, and you see three girls on one side, if you zoom in really tightly, you can see my face being quite swollen,” Olsen explained. You can even see it in some of the early promotional shots. You can say my face is a little swollen. ”
Florence HendersonThe starring role as Carol Brady was there to comfort Olsen and make sure everyone knew that the young actress had been injured. However, everyone around her claimed that she was fine.

Olsen said at the time, “I don’t want to be brave. In fact, I just don’t want to cry, I don’t want to sob. I just let go and sob, forget all my pride and sob because this hurts.”
She ended up making a brave face and holding back tears.

Olsen’s mom took her to the doctor, but the family chose not to take legal action.
“The saddest news is that we didn’t sue Paramount because I made more than the show,” Olsen joked. “But I started working the next day. Florence was the first person to meet me. She’s like, ‘You should make sure everyone is looking at her.’ And my mother was like, “Oh, yes, I’ll do.” Because everyone said, “She really didn’t attack.”
“My eyes were black. I mean, I had two black eyes. My nose was swollen. My face was swollen,” she said. “I remember loving it because I looked like I was making a horror movie, and everyone knew it.

Paramount has hidden her bruises from makeup artist Halking, who has Lucille Ball’s makeup. King also collaborated with Henderson during filming. “Bundle of Brady.”
The cover-up of Olsen’s injuries must have gone well, as even her male co-stars didn’t notice. “I knew nothing about it,” Knight said on the podcast.
