Starbase, a billionaire, a local Cameron County, Texas Elon Musk It is run by SpaceX Company and will soon become an official city.
According to BBC News, Starbase’s eligible residents are SpaceX employees and voted in favor of incorporating the new municipality in Saturday’s election.
A total of 212 people voted in favor of establishing the city, while six opposed the efforts, according to results published online by Cameron County.

Some nearby residents have criticised the measures to establish a new city and accused SpaceX of hurting the local environment. SpaceX was fined nearly $150,000 last year by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for Waste Dumping.
The possibility of its establishment as a city has been floating for years before the December petition paved the way for Saturday’s vote, according to BBC News.
The city government includes the mayor and two commissioners with authority over planning, taxation and other local issues. The first mayor is Bobby Peden, Vice President of Texas Testing and Launch Operations at SpaceX. Peden and the other two residents with SpaceX bonds filling the seats of the two commissioners did not oppose them.

According to the Texas Municipal League, SpaceX covers approximately 1.6 square miles before SpaceX began purchasing land in 2012. Before SpaceX begins purchasing land, Starbase becomes C-City.
