Christie Brinkley has Beverly Dangello to thank him for not being topless on the “National Lampoon Vacation.”
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model appeared in the 1983 comedy as the flirty “The Girl of Ferrari” on the other side of Chevy Chase. Viewers witnessed Chase character Clark Griswold struggled to look to the road as the blonde bombshell in a sports car next to him zoomed between the lanes. Meanwhile, Griswold’s wife, Ellen [D’Angelo] He was sleeping in the passenger seat.
In Brinkley’s new memoir, “Uptown Girl” Pinup explained how the film producer asked her to go topless for the scene, but she refused.

“The most memorable part of the shoot was when he bumped into a Chevy character in a motel pool and spoke to him for a skinny dipping that the two of them filmed in the morning,” wrote Brinkley in an excerpt obtained by Fox News Digital.
“That was when the production team asked me to go topless for a shot, but I wasn’t happy with it. By then, part of my appeal as a model was knowing that men had to imagine what was under my swimsuit. “National Lampoon Vacation” (I’ll leave as it did). ”

“When the production team asked again about the possibility of nude, and I couldn’t give them a try – Beverly went out to set on Nick in Time. “I’m going to do that,” she said. I wouldn’t have loved her more [at] That moment. And, in my opinion, the scene between Chevy and me is funny and clever as I throw a bra and panties at him from the camera. All viewers can see is his oversized look. ”

Brinkley, 71, told Fox News Digital that she thanked 73-year-old D’Angelo for intervening and saving her.
“When I got there, I was very grateful from day one,” she said. “I arrived there and didn’t really know what to do for myself. I was in this motel everywhere. And I got a call from Beverly, which is like reassuring you and making you feel like, “I can relax.”

Chase, 81, was equally welcomed, and Brinkley was revealed in her book.

“I really knew I wanted to be a mom and I didn’t want it [my children] To go to school and have your kids go, “You have a mom! I’ll see your mom!”, the star told Fox News Digital.
“So I just made that decision, and I think people knew, I think there was a time when I didn’t attract anything like that.

In her memoirs, Brinkley emphasized that she never posed in her birthday suit.
“To be clear… if someone asked me to pose for nude, I ended up saying no,” Brinkley wrote. “To this day, I have never done a nude shoot, not because I am rude, but because I always wanted to be a mom, and because I didn’t want my kids to be embarrassed by the naked photos of my mother circulating somewhere in the magazine world.

“I refused to do anything else as a model, especially when a client asked me to fly to the South of France to accompany a group of men on a Mediterranean yacht a few months after my career,” writes Brinkley.

“I said that work will be kind to everyone on board as it could be beneficial to my career. The trip includes overnight, but in the morning I can return to Paris.
“I might have been that way Rustic kids in Malibubut I didn’t hear anything about the trip,” she shared. I’ve heard rumours back then that other models with more successful careers had gone the same trip and returned with flashy cars, gems and new magazine covers, but that didn’t matter to me. If I were going to move on in the industry, I wanted to do it on my own terms and not under others. ”

“That proposed trip was the only time in my career that I have ever been asked directly or indirectly about sexual benefits,” continued Brinkley.

“I know it makes me one of the lucky few, and if you declare your worth, no one will ever wonder it again, but I know it’s not true. Instead, you have to declare your worth over and over again.
“But as long as you believe in yourself, it doesn’t really matter what other people want or what you want to do to you. You’re writing your own script…and as long as I write my own script, I call my own shots.
