Sheryl Crow She revealed her decision to leave Los Angeles behind to begin a new chapter in her life in Tennessee.
During an interview with Variety The 63-year-old singer, published Wednesday, reflected how nearly 20 years ago the move to Nashville was spurred by her sudden cancer diagnosis and painful breakup with then-Lance Armstrong, and the loss of the family she had with him.
“We all have moments when we have to pivot into our lives,” Crow said. “I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and moved here in 2007.”

“I thought I was going to get married and I think it came from a relationship that was close to my seamed children. I was diagnosed after that. All three of those things reevaluated me,” she added.

“I just saw that and thought, ‘I want to put my roots in. I want a family,'” the nine-time Grammy winner added. “My sisters live here and my whole family lived within three hours, so I decided to start phase 2.”

“I was fighting all the paparazzi while I was trying to focus on my career,” she wrote 2022 People Magazine for People Magazine.
Crow continued. “I was a healthy person who always prioritized eating and exercising, but at that point it seemed impossible to focus on anything other than getting through every day and maintaining my career.”
The singer’s mammogram brought a biopsy revealing she had Stage-zero breast duct carcinoma in situ (DCIS) With one chest. The crows were then subjected to mastectomy with both breast and 7 weeks of radiation.

After treatment, Crow fell into remission and became a defender of the voices of early detection, emphasizing the importance of everyday mammograms.

In April 2006, Crow moved from LA to a rural town outside Nashville, where he purchased a 150-acre horse farm called Cross Creek Farm.

“It’s great that my kids grow up with the idea that they live in the community and they owe their luck to help others. There are no paparazzi,“She said.
