Other reports show that Sanders appeared indifferent at several meetings, particularly with the New York Giants.
As the draft came, one CBS analyst recalled when Sanders skipped something he “should have done.”
According to CBS’s Ross Tucker, stars, quarterbacks and coaches often meet with broadcasters for the days leading up to the game, but before the game against Colorado, Sanders skipped one of those meetings.

Tucker said Sanders was originally supposed to talk to CBS on Wednesday but was pushed back two days later as he was being treated for the injury. However, he never showed up at the rescheduled meeting.
“We weren’t actually given a reason, but we didn’t talk to Chedur at the production meeting. You know, quarterbacks, especially those well-known players, are very unusual. There’s a pickup truck in front of the hotel. Shedale sits behind the pickup truck.” “Dan Patrick’s Show.”
“It made me wonder. And I said, ‘I couldn’t speak to him.’ Maybe he’s the best kid ever, he’s a bad kid.
“And I just wondered how many such stories there were, where Chedur did something that wasn’t conventional. He did things nontraditionally. It certainly seemed to be a deal with a lot of combined interviews and meetings with the team.

Sanders was drafted 144th overall Cleveland Browns. His slide in the draft began after the New York Giants traded up to 25 to select Jackson Dirt. Then on the second day, all three other quarterbacks, Tyler Shaw, Jalen Milllow and Dillon Gabriel, were taken away. Gabriel also went to the Browns.
