Shakira, Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn’s upcoming concerts were suddenly cancelled Thursday due to concerns over the safety of the stage at Fenway Park, Boston.
The Columbian singer was scheduled to perform on Thursday night, but the country star and country music duo’s show was scheduled for Friday night. However, Live Nation announced in a statement shared with Fox News Digital that the concert would not go as planned.
“During regular pre-show checks, the show was cancelled as structural elements were identified as not reaching standard. All team members are safe,” said a representative from Livenation.

Fenway Park also shared news of cancellation of posts to the X venue page.
“Due to an unexpected situation, Shakira and Jason Aldean And Brooks & Dunn’s performance was cancelled because it was scheduled for May 29th and May 30th at Funway Park, respectively. Refunds are available at the time of purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
According to the local Boston ABC Affiliate WCVB, Sources said the cancellation occurred after “stages fell apart during rehearsals.” The outlet reported that Boston inspectors conducted the inspection and found “staging was not structurally sound.”
Fox News Digital has requested representatives from Shakira, Aldean, Brooks & Dunn and Boston Inspectoral Services for comment.
Shakira has not yet publicly addressed the cancellation, but Aldean and Brooks & Dunn shared a Fenway Park post about the social media platform.

On Wednesday, Shakira expressed her excitement at her performance in Boston in an X-page post, noting that Will.I.Am and Wyclef Jean will be on stage.

Aldean launched his “Full Throttle Tour 2025” last weekend in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. “Try it in a small town.” The singer was scheduled to co-headline with Brooks & Dunn for the first time at a concert in Boston on Friday. When the one-night show was announced in January, Aldean said, “Playing Fenway Park has always been a highlight for me for many years. I love the city of Boston, the people and the energy surrounding the city.

Shakira’s show at Fenway Park was cancelled just four hours before the Grammy Award winner was set to take the stage, with several fans already gathering outside the stadium. Local CBS Affiliate WBZ News We spoke to fans who expressed their disappointment at the news.
“We’re a bit disappointed to come from Connecticut to see Shakira. I’m from Baranquira, Colombia,” fans said. “We received the news that the concert had been cancelled, like nine minutes ago.”

“I’m disappointed,” another told the outlet. “I’ve never been to a concert. It’s my first time. I’m 63 and I’m disappointed.”
“We were supposed to come in November, so she rescheduled the entire tour,” said a fan who traveled from Florida for Shakira’s concert. “So it’s already six or eight months later and it’s been cancelled again, so it’s definitely sad.”
