Indio, California – Sammy Hagar I got the opportunity to work with his former bandmate, the late Eddie Van Halen.
Hagar released the song “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,” which came to him in a dream shortly after Van Halen’s death in 2020.
“About a year after Eddie passed away, I dreamed of him, and I dreamed of him many times,” Hagar told Fox News Digital at the Stage Coach Festival, where he performed with Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Kenny Aronoff.
Hagar explained the unusual feeling of dreaming of Van Halen while he knew his friend was already dead.

Sammy Hagar was planning to retire until he received a call from Eddie Van Halen.
“He was like, “Hey guys, let’s write a song. Man, guys, let’s write a cool song.” And then he started playing this riff and I started singing. And then, boom, he left.

Hagar can also defeat what Van Halen was playing in his dream, and he calls “Encore, thank you, good night,” a “homage to Eddie.”

Hagar will play Dolby Live at Park MGM from April 30th to May 17th, and will continue to shake up at the “Las Vegas Residency” at the Las Vegas Residency.

The 77-year-old welcomes the opportunity and notes the dramatic change in perception of Las Vegas residency.
“Well, in the old days, if you played Vegas and did a residency, you were washed away. “Oh, that’s a cemetery, right? If you don’t have a place now, you’re no one,” he said.

a Residencies in Las Vegas It gives Hagar the opportunity to perform, but at a more manageable pace.
“The cool thing about that is, at my age, I’m very tired of going on tours in my hotel room, travelling, bad food, bad night sleep, after trying to travel.
“The residency gives you the opportunity to sleep good night, eat Las Vegas, the best culinary market in the world, and rehearse on your days off at the same venue.
“I think now, rather than the old man retires, it’s like, ‘You can continue this at this level, you can continue this way.’ I am now, from the bottom of my heart, I am doing it in your life, everything about you, my voice.
“Hopefully I enjoy this as much as I enjoy it. I can keep squeezing another 50-100 shows from this old man.”

“I don’t know if I can go to tour that much, but I can do a show, and as long as I can sing, it’s really about it.”
