Rick Allen has been two years since the legendary drummer def leppardbeing attacked randomly outside a Florida hotel, the 61-year-old musician is still struggling with the aftermath.
“I have gone through several challenging times related to what happened in Florida,” Allen appeared in Sirius’s Trunk Nation with the Eddie Trunk. Every person. “And when I was beaten outside the hotel, all of that was ongoing, so I was trying to deal with everything I could and I had to take a break from some of the side projects that were busy.
“It was a real challenge for me,” followed Allen, who will be taking part in the DEF Leppard’s Stadium tour this summer. “Hopefully I can put it all behind me and I can probably go back as normal as I can give the situation. But it was very traumatic for me and yeah, that was difficult. But I can put it behind me right away.”

In March 2023, Allen was attacked by a 19-year-old outside a hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
Allen, who was in town for a gig with a rock band, was smoking outside four seasons near Max Hartley, who was reportedly hiding behind Paul, ran to the musician and reportedly knocked him up. The fall caused Allen to hit the ground and caused injuries, police reported at the time.

It is said that a nameless woman came to Allen’s defense and was later attacked by Hartley. She was able to return to the hotel, but Hartley followed. Hartley said she grabbed a woman with her hair and dragged her outside, according to the report.
The 19-year-old was later arrested after fleeing the area. Police said he was found by staff at a nearby Conrad Hotel while walking through the parking lot that allegedly caused damage to the vehicle. Hartley was charged with four felony of criminal mischief, one of the misdemeanor batteries, and one worse battery.

Police said in the report that the victim lost his arm in 1984. Allen was fatally involved I took his left arm that year. He then had to reteach himself how to play drums.
A few days after the attack, Allen thanked his supporters for his continued love and encouragement.
“I would like to thank you all for your overwhelming support,” he wrote on his previous Twitter, X. “Your love and prayer really helps.”

“My wife, Lauren, thankfully, was not with me at the time of the incident. We are now together and working to recover in a safe space.”
