Scientists studying the cave found themselves in a dangerous situation on Sunday.
While exploring the caves of Abiso Peipano in Italy with others, the explorer is trapped in a falling rock.
The 62-year-old caveologist was found over 130 feet below the surface in a head injury.
The Associated Press (AP) prevented him from escaping the cave.
To help retrieve the man cavethe rescuer spread the cave using explosive charges at three important forks that carried him to the surface.

According to the AP, the Abisso Paperino caves extend nearly 600 feet underground.
It is also home to a Fossil Gallery Located near Ormea in the province of Cuneo.

The cave is located in the Piedmont area Northwest ItalyIt sits at the foot of the Swiss Alps.

US National Park Services (NPS) advise visitors exploring the sculpture to protect themselves from scuffy scratches to wear crude closed shoes, long sleeves and trousers.
