The 2024 presidential election is only five months back, but at least at the annual Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, the country is already heading towards the mid-term 2026.
A straw vote of 267 meeting participants from eight states, Including PennsylvaniaPennsylvania treasurer Stacey Garity was a clear favourite for winning the Republican primary in the 2026 gubernatorial election. She received 41% of the votes. R-Penn. This is because Rep. Dan Maeser was 9% and it was a distant 2 seconds.
Although 2026 is still far away, and Pennsylvania politicians have not officially announced their run, both Republicans have accepted the opportunity to tease potential bids.
“I thank the support from the conservatives in Pennsylvania. There’s no decision yet. But I’m listening and focusing on what Republicans need to win after 2025,” Garity said after the Straw Voting Winner at the Leadership Conference.

Garity made history in 2024 by winning the most votes in Pennsylvania’s state elections. It crushed the Democratic government’s 2022 record with 500,000 votes. Garity campaigned for reelection along with the senator. Dave McCormickdid not escape longtime Democratic Sen. Bob Casey.

Shapiro didn’t go re-election in 2024, but his name floated as a potential running companion for the Vice President Kamala Harris. But 2026 will provide Republicans with the opportunity to gain control of the state’s highest office. Speech at the Leadership Conference proves that the massive Republican victory in 2024 cheered up party bases in traditionally competitive battlefield states.
“We’re here as a party and winner. Keystone State sent back President Trump to White Housesent Bob Casey back to Scranton and elected Republican Attorney General for the first time in over a decade. And next November, Keystone will send Republicans to the governor’s mansion,” Garity said in her remarks.
Garrity is Meuser, 2022 GOP candidates Doug Mastriano and StateShing. He appeared as a front runner in a virtual matchup between Kristin Phillips-Hill and Scott Martin. Garrititude, President Donald Trump Ally and Meuser decide to throw their names into the governor’s race. Both Pennsylvanian politicians have shown that an announcement could come as early as this summer.

Garity said Pennsylvania Capital Star On Saturday, decisions regarding her governor’s bid came “probably in the summer.” Meuser, who spoke at the meeting, confirmed to Fox News Digital that his own decision would come during the summer or sooner.
“I’ve been encouraged by the strong support I received from the people of Pennsylvania, and I’m urging you to consider the governor’s run. Now I’m doing due diligence, meeting stakeholders and seriously evaluating the way I can provide the best service to the Commonwealth.
“I hope to make decisions more quickly over the summer or if necessary. Meanwhile, I will continue to focus on moving forward with President Trump’s first American agenda in Congress, unleashing economic growth, borders and American energy control,” Meuser told Fox News Digital.

As Garrity and Meuser continue to represent Pennsylvania as they contemplate their 2026 governor’s campaign, Pennsylvania Republicans told Fox News Digital they are “thrilled to have a strong candidate” for the governor.
“There is no doubt that Pennsylvanians are not good as Josh Shapiro and our governor. We are ready to change to November 2026. We encourage the Shapiro scandalous administration and the candidates to promote GOP victory, in order to use the recent $5 million taxpayer funds to promote anti-thoughts, Pennsylvania said in a statement.

The Pennsylvania Republican accusations are linked to Shapiro’s $5 million donation to the Muslim Community Center in Philadelphia. Front Page Magazine reported The Imams of Al-Aqsa Islamic society once said, “The Jews are the wisest people.” Shapiro himself is Jewish.
Speaks on the Philadelphia stage after government Tim WaltzD-Minn. was announced as Harris’ running companion in 2024, and Shapiro accused the crowd of “I am proud of my faith.”
