But Duran turned things around in 2023 as he cut .295/.346/.482 with 34 doubles, eight home runs and 40 RBIs in Boston’s 102 games.

He spent his career in 2024, leading MLB in doubles (48), triples (14), at-bats (671), plate appearance (735), belting 21 Homer with 75 RBI.
Duran also made his first career All-Star Game and won MVP honors after betting a home run that the American League beat the National League.
There was some controversy with Duran last season, but MLB paused two games for telling him an anti-gay slur towards the fans. He quickly apologized, saying he felt sorry for his actions and worked to get better from his mistakes.
“Jarlen’s decision to share his story is an act of courage to reach far beyond baseball,” Red Sox president and CEO Sam Kennedy said in a statement via ESPN. “He shows that they are not alone, they are not okay with not only asking for help, but also showing others who may be struggling to be essential.
