The Queen’s legendary guitarist Brian May Just seven months after a minor stroke temporarily paralyzed my left arm, I made an unexpected return to the music festival stage at Coachella 2025.
The 77-year-old rock icon joined Rising Music Star Benson Boone with his high-energy set.
It was revealed in May that he was promoted to the main stage at a popular music event as he appeared vigorously playing guitar solos since his illness last year.

The guitarist made great strides in his recovery as he was able to perform comfortably when he strummed his instruments with full control of his arms.

“Give it up for Queen guitarist Brian May,” Boone announced to the Coachella crowd as he cried out to the famous musician.
Ahead of the surprising performance in May, he teased his social media collaboration.
“Look at who I bumped into – on the way to the legendary Palm Springs… Will something happen?!” He shared a private plane with Boone, so he posted on social media looking at the back of his head.

He further shared a selfie with Boone, saying, “Do we look happy?!!! @BensonBoone -Truly Golden I’m planning on cherishing this moment on the plane with the 22-year-old genius.
The latest post in May mocked him for being overwhelmed by emotions ahead of his surprising Coachella performance.

The epic yet emotional performance of May comes after suffering a mild stroke last year.
At the time, the queen guitarist took him to Instagram to provide health updates and detailed his hospitalization.
“I’m here to bring you some good news first. The good news is that you can play guitar after the events over the last few days,” she shared with his fans on social media.

“Because I had doubts about this… what I mentioned happened a while ago, and what they called it a minor stroke was suddenly – suddenly – I couldn’t control this arm, so it was a bit scary,” he added.

The recent health horrors of May come after a queen guitarist suffered a heart attack in May 2020.
He previously had angiography in the hospital, which showed that he had three busy arteries and was “at risk of blocking the blood supply to my heart.” He eventually chose to insert three stents.

He may have admitted that he “may have died” due to his artery condition, but he would not have known whether he had had angiography.
