Rachel Kennedy is troubled by the death of her brother Joshua Sutter. Joshua Sutter was fatally stabbed with the sword by his roommate, “Power Ranger” actor Ricardo Medina Jr.
“I don’t know how someone can get away, especially in California. [with this]”Kennedy told Fox News Digital. “I think… I’m sure I’ll never know. Maybe hopefully, I’ll know one day. What would persuade someone to release such a madman, a monster? What was the factor? Is it because he was a bit of a celebrity? … That just doesn’t make any sense.”
The Medina case is being investigated in Monday’s episode of Investigation Discovery (ID), “Hollywood Demons.” Featuring commentary by Dr. Drew Pinski, the show aims to explore “the scandal of life in the spotlight.”

“My brother is portrayed as something he is not,” Kennedy said. “He’s a victim…and I’m stuck with him.”
Medina will not appear in the series. Fox News Digital reached out to the 47-year-old and the commenter.
Stanley L. Friedman, Medina’s lawyer at the time, told Fox News Digital: Voluntary manslaughter was sentenced to a crucial six-year sentence.
“This ruling was accepted by the court, which was a favorable outcome for Ricky, as he already had significant custody. Given the circumstances, the defense believed this was a legitimate outcome.”
According to the episode, Kennedy met Medina On a dating app 2014. They quickly united mutual love for dogs. She had a pet store. At the time, she said Medina was a dog trainer and didn’t mention that he was an actor.

Medina played Red Lion Wild Force Ranger “Power Rangers Wild Force” In 2002, he was the voice of Decher in “Power Rangers Samurai” in 2011 and 2012, and also appeared in shows such as “ER” and “CSI: Miami.”
“We thought it was a great match whether we were friends or not,” she said. “He really loved animals and thought he seemed to know a lot about dogs. My first impression was really good.”

After two dates, Kennedy ultimately felt romantically incompatible. But soon, in early 2015, Kennedy was thinking of creating a sanctuary for rescued dogs. Medina came to mind. She reached out to him.

The episode shared that at the time, Medina had a new girlfriend, but she seemed keen to help Kennedy make her dream come true.
Kennedy claimed to Fox News Digital that Medina came up with the idea of renting California Green Valley Ranch It was available. It is an ideal space where dogs can live and receive beautiful training.
“I thought it was perfect,” Kennedy said. “I said, ‘I’ll send you a lease, I’ll just help you take care of the animals.’ He was down for that.

According to the episode, Medina was dressed in her own room and barely came out. He was said to be fiercely protecting his space. Kennedy insisted on Fox News Digital that the property is “always confused” and “filthy.”
“I feel really bad because I put the animals in a position where they were ignored, left alone, loved and properly cared for,” she said.
Kennedy claimed that when he finally confronted Medina, he threatened to release the animals into the wild so that they could be eaten by coyotes.

“I was in panic,” she said. “…The conversation was very scary. It wasn’t a conversation with someone I thought I knew. He was very angry. He was screaming at me like a different person. It made my brother go to the ranch and move there and ask that the animals be fine.
Kennedy said Medina had appeared the following day when he dropped off his brothers at the ranch. He apologised greatly for his actions. However, the new life arrangements did not improve the problem, Kennedy argued.
“My brother wasn’t the type of person who spoke smack about the people behind his back, but the only thing he told me was ‘I hope he’ll help me.’ My brother was lonely there and he wanted to be his friend.

“My brother loved it there,” Kennedy recalled. “…He never complained to me about Ricardo. He did this to other people, his girlfriend, his landlord. But he didn’t want me to emphasize anything.
However, Kennedy wanted to kick Medina out. Kennedy claimed he had begun a plan with the landlord to drive out Medina. There’s an email, she insisted. The plan was to kick him out on February 1st, 2015. The landlord then reassigns the lease to Kennedy and Sutter. Her brother is pleased with the idea of staying at the ranch, she said.
They were a day late, Kennedy said.

On the afternoon of January 31st, 2015, Sutter called with his father. He was talking about how to grow organic vegetables to feed dogs on a ranch. Medina’s girlfriend stopped by.
After the call, there was a debate between Medina and Sutter. Inside the house, police said Medina had stabbed Sutter with a sword.
Medina called the police and the first responder took Sutter to the hospital, where he was declared dead. People Magazine It has been reported. Medina was arrested.

Kennedy said he knows Medina owns the weapons.
“I brought my brother a BB gun to scare the coyotes,” she explained. “I asked Ricardo if he wanted me to get it someday. [him] The same goes for BB guns that scare coyotes. He said, “No, I always have my sword. I don’t need any other weapons.” I didn’t know where he was putting it – he didn’t mention it. But he said that all the protection he needed was the sword. ”
“I haven’t learned how to deal with it yet,” she admitted. “…There’s no support group to attend. No one can call like this to talk about killing someone you love. That was so scary.”
“We’ll put this murderer in general (in prison) so that Joshua can see and feel the fear that he must have felt,” Sutter’s father, Donald Sutter, told court. He was survived by his daughter. (Rachel Kennedy)
“He was bigger than my brother,” Kennedy continued. “He might have just pushed my brother aside. He could just leave. There are three exits in the house. Instead, he chose to pick up the sword and plunge into his brother’s body.
People Magazine reported that Medina’s lawyers declared that Sutter was only stabbed once and that the other wound was a dog bite. The autopsy report revealed that Sutter suffered 10 sharp force injuries, ABC7 reported. The report said he had multiple hand injuries consistent with defensive wounds, as well as stabbing wounds that passed through the abdomen.
Medina was released when prosecutors determined there was no sufficient evidence to charge him, People Magazine reported. Less than a year later, he was re-arrested and charged with murder.

Friedman said Medina and Sutter discussed the actor’s girlfriend. He said it intensified when the couple escaped to Medina’s bedroom and locked the door. The struggle continued as Sutter exploded the room. Friedman said that Medina stabbed him in self-defense with his sword, fearing for his life and the safety of his girlfriend.
Medina was initially charged with first-degree murder. He then pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in order to avoid being sentenced to life. In 2017, he was sentenced to six years in prison. According to the episode, Medina was released on parole in 2020.
Medina spoke with reporters earlier and apologized for the incident.

Kennedy said he has been forced to speak for years to ensure Sutter is not forgotten.
“I remember going online and seeing people making jokes about how my brother’s life was taken away,” Kennedy said. “They said it was my brother’s fault and he deserved it… I wasn’t going to make people think my brother was worth this… this didn’t have to happen.”
