The blanket ban on transgender individuals serving in the military had previously been lifted in 2014 under President Barack Obama.
The latest policy shift occurs when the Pentagon leadership under Hegses begins to dismantle the most. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) Initiative. Last month, he said 99.9% of DEI-related policies had been removed.
