The McLaren star said it wasn’t for him, adding that driving in Formula 1 has always been a dream for him.
“Also, those people are crazy. For me, speed… I think the wall is so close. You have to put a lot of trust in the people around you,” he said via Indystar. “It hurts when we crash an F1 car at the speed we go.
“We’re adding another 20-30 mph… They’re basically going 20 mph faster than our top speed, as an average speed. That’s not about getting hurt, but about how painful it is.”

Piastri owns a nine-point lead with McLaren teammate Rand Norris entering the Miami Grand Prix. Verstappen is 19 points behind Piastri in third place. George Russell and Charles Leclair round out the top five.
The Indy 500 is set for May 25th and will be seen for the first time on Fox.
Marcus Erickson and Alexander Rossi have previously raced in Formula One. Pat O’Ward, Christian Landguard and Felix Rosenqvist were among those who competed either way. Formula 2 Or a Formula 3 race career.
