Orionide Meteor Showerthis is considered one of the most beautiful showers of the year, and could light up the sky with shooting stars throughout most of next month.
NASA said Orionide peaks in mid-October each year, and meteors are known for their brightness and speed.
The ability to see shooting stars relies on clear night sky as brightly deserted Gibbsmoon travels between fullness and the previous quarter stages, outperforming the faintest meteors and reducing the number of meteors that appear in Skygazooz.
According to NASA, Some of the orionides leave shimmering “trains” or incandescent shards in the wake of meteors that can last for a few minutes, and some faster meteors could also become fireballs.

The Orionid meteor is a fragment of Halley’s comet, surrounded by some of the brightest stars in the night sky.
“Every time Halley returns to its inner solar system, its nucleus flows ice and rocky dust into space. These dust grains eventually become orionides in October and in May, if they collide with Earth’s atmosphere, they become eta aquatic creatures,” NASA said.
At the peak of the meteor shower scheduled for Monday, Skywatchers were able to see up to 15 meteors per hour, depending on location in the Northern Hemisphere.

Clear sky is important, but the second most important viewing state is a dark sky away from light pollution.
Billcook, who heads NASA’s Weather Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, suggests that the budding Skywatchers will find a place away from the city’s lights.
“Get a blanket. Lie flat on your back and take in as much sky as possible,” he said on the NASA site. “In less than 30 minutes in the dark, my eyes adapt and I start to see the meteors.”

According to NASA, Orionides are visible In both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres From midnight to dawn.
The Orionids Meteor Shower Peak will take place on October 21st, while Orionids will remain active until November 22nd.

Halley’s comet took 76 years to orbit the Sun, and it was in 1986 that it was last seen by a coincidence astronomer. The comet is not expected to enter the inner solar system again until 2061, NASA said.
