The countersuit began by saying that Musk worked with Openai’s founder to help launch the organization as a nonprofit, but in 2017 and 2018 they refused to succumb to “Musk’s demands for managing the company, or to the absorption of Musk’s electric vehicle company Tesla.”
“So Musk declared that the open would fail without him and that he would focus on the development of AI at Tesla,” it continued. “A few years later, in 2022, Openai launched ChatGpt, an AI chatbot that attracts attention and users on an unprecedented scale. ChatGpt led Openai to a new spotlight. The mask had nothing to do with it.”
“Musk was unacceptable to see such success for the corporations he abandoned and declared his destiny. He made his project to defeat Open and build a direct competitor who grabbed technical leads for Elon Musk, not humanity,” the lawsuit added.
