New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani doubled his plan to tax “a richer, whiter neighborhood,” but he added that he believes there should not be a billionaires.
The democratic socialist argued Sunday that his push towards white taxpayers is not racist, despite his agenda explicitly targeting white areas.
“It’s just an explanation of what we’re seeing right now,” Mamdani told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “It’s not driven by race. It’s a more rating of which neighborhoods are taxed and are overtaxed.”
