Former NFL quarterback boomer Esiason has been unloaded Chedur Sanders On Monday, following a dramatic slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, several teams claimed they had removed their previous Colorado quarterbacks from the draft board as the owners didn’t want “qualified people” on the roster.
Sanders was drafted by Cleveland Browns The 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the draft. The stunning fall follows a dramatic weekend, with many predicting that they are likely to be selected in the first round, and along with teammate Travis Hunter, he was drafted on the second overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Not only was Sanders handed over to the fifth round, it was also Cleveland’s second choice at quarterback. The Browns had already drafted Oregon’s Dilongabriel in the third round.

Esiason said Monday he was not surprised by Sanders’ fall, claiming that several NFL officials confirmed to him that their respective owners had requested that Sanders be removed from the plan entirely.
“Chedur Sanders torpedoed himself. His attitude from the field – all the bad meetings he had at the combine. His dad didn’t help him either,” Esiason said on Monday’s episode of the “Boomer and Geo” show.
“I mean, I think he was very high himself and he was very uncomfortable with many of the coaches and general managers in the league. Now I’m telling you and I know this.

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt slams media around Sheduer Sanders’ draft coverage
Sanders faced a great deal of criticism for his lead up to last week’s draft. One of the longtime NFL assistant coaches recently spoke NFL Network Sanders was “the worst official interview I’ve ever done in my life.”
“He’s very qualified. He takes unnecessary bags. He doesn’t play on time. He has a scary body language. He blames his teammates,” the coach continued. “But the biggest thing is he’s not that good.”
Sanders was the expected first round pick. It was located inside the projected landing spot New York Giants, The person who had the third overall pick, the Saint of New Orleans, had the pick of No. 9. When both teams moved in different directions, the No. 21 Pittsburgh Steelers looked like the next viable option, but Sanders’s name once again remained on the board.

“I don’t blame them. When I hear how he’s talking about himself, I hear some of the actions you’ve seen on the field in terms of his interactions with other players, build his own draft room and, legendarily, hug this crap hanging – so this is basically a wake-up call to think of a lot of these athletes.”
