
New Orleans Saints Right tackle Ryan Ramchik announced Thursday that he was retiring after an eight-year NFL career.
Ramczyk, 30, made his announcement in a lengthy social media post, where he highlighted his unconventional path to professionalism.

“What an incredible journey. NFL It wasn’t a straight line, it wasn’t a story that most people would expect. There were moments when people doubted me, and then I doubted myself,” read the Ramchik post.

“It’s interesting how life works. Sometimes, a path with less travel can lead to places you didn’t expect, but that’s where you were meant to do. Today, I reflect all the twisted bends that led me from all the construction colleges to the ‘welding machine’ at this point.
Drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Ramczyk is a three-time All-Pro, starring in 101 regular season games and starting all the games. He is the second saint tackle to be selected as an All-Pro in three seasons.

Ramczyk missed a fair amount of time during the 2021 season due to a knee injury. According to ESPNhe stayed healthy the following year, but in 2023 he missed the final four games due to knee issues. He sidelined everything in 2024 due to the same issue.
