In the draft, Campbell wore Lacey’s second pin on his square.
“Kylen is a special person. I feel his family. They have been through a lot recently. He has a really great family. He is not only a good footballer, but he was a very good teammate, a good son, a good brother and a good guy in general.” Campbell said.
“It’s just terrible. Everything that happened. I’ve sent many prayers to his family because he was going to call his name this weekend. … His name won’t be called, but he’ll walk that stage.

Lacey transferred to LSU in 2022. He had his best season in 2024. He had 58 catches for 866 yards and nine touchdowns.
