“We need to go back to being a student-athlete,” Brewer told Fox News Digital.
“If people want the freedom to make as much money as they want and can use sports to do it, they should be able to do it — and they should be able to do it in our professional leagues. But there’s no place to pay unlimited money to people in college sports. They should be student-athletes.

Brewer argued that revenue sharing exacerbates the problems that have been created by the NIL since legalization in 2021. Graduation rate declined.
“Their incentive to go to college is to make money, not to get an education anymore, so we keep looking at students who aren’t focused on school,” Brewer said. “It’s not right for universities to recruit student-athletes who no longer need to focus on being students because they’re exploiting this loophole.”
