New York Knicks Guard Josh Hart opened early in the team’s Game 5 defeat on Wednesday night.
Hart was injured late in the first quarter and had to leave the game. He had an elbow in his face before cutting his eyes. He needed stitching to close the gouache.

Still, Hart led the Knicks with 24 points in a lost effort.

It was far from the only intense incident of the night. Hart and Jalen Brown were tied up in the third quarter and had to separate. After Brown got caught up in the Heart screen, the two entered a push contest.
“There were only two people who were very competitive,” Hart said. “He’s a passionate and competitive player. We were tied up at halftime. He’s trying to give their team sparks and momentum.

Hart and Brown looked like the cooler head would win after the game.
Brown has 26 points and 12 assists, stepping up in a big way to pull within one game that ties the series together. He had to bear the brunt of his responsibility to bring Boston back to the series after Jason Tatum’s devastating injury.
“We did what we needed to do to get it back to New York,” said Celtics head coach Joe Matzla. “You can’t choose the tests you have, you choose how you respond to them.”
