The Trump administration announced it on Monday Freeze $2.2 billion In a multi-year grant and contract from Harvard University, after the president of Alan M. Gerber University announced that the school would not comply with the Trump administration’s demands to fight anti-Semitism that day.
In response, Golden State Warriors Head coach Steve Kerr was wearing a Harvard basketball shirt for a press conference Tuesday night.
“Is something going on?” he jokingly drew laughter from the media.

“[Harvard coach] Tommy Amarker is my friend. He sent me this shirt and it felt like a great day to wear it,” Kerr added. “I believe in academic freedom. I believe it’s important that all our institutions can treat their business the way they want it to. That’s a ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard, but it’s a bit of a par for the course I’m at the moment. This supports Harvard.
“How to go, how to stand up to the bully.”
Malcolm’s father was a professor in the Middle East and was assassinated in 1984, Kerr has long been opposed to Trump. Kerr confirmed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Kerr spoke to reporters after his warrior defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament and won the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
Gerber said the federal government is threatening partnerships with several universities, including Harvard, over the accusations of anti-Semitism on campus. He also said the Trump administration issued the latest expanded list of requests and said that if schools plan to maintain financial ties with the federal government, it must follow.

Earlier this month, the Federal Anti-Semitism Task Force published a review of Harvard University’s federal grants and contracts worth nearly $9 billion as the university faces anti-Semitism investigations on campus.
