“The Govan and the arena family are preparing to go ahead with faith and determination, with the promise to bring Alija back to 100%. He is blessed, resilient and energetic,” the family said in a statement Wednesday.
“His journey to full recovery has only just begun, but his spirit is strong and he is surrounded by love and support.”

“I remember hearing him knock on the car window, but the smoke was so thick I couldn’t see anything,” the person said. TMZ Sports.

The arena was placed in coma due to high levels of carbon dioxide.
In December 2024, the arena was one of the top-ranked shooting guards in the 2026 class. He recently asked him to be reclassified as a senior so that he could graduate from high school in 2025.
Gilbert played in the NBA for 12 seasons. He was a three-time All-Star and spent eight seasons. Washington Wizardtwo seasons with the Golden State Warriors, one season with the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies. He currently hosts a basketball-centric “Gil’s Arena” podcast.

Alija also has offers from Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville, averaging more than 30 points per game at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles last season. His father attended Arizona.
