LeBron James has left his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers This is the second time after the 2017-18 season. He spent the past seven NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning the franchise championship in 2020.
James has entered this offseason $52.6 million player optionshe finally decided to exercise for the 2025-26 season. Despite the decision, James may be open to exploring options with at least the other teams before a new season comes in the fall.
James has already played 21 NBA seasons and will celebrate his 41st birthday a few months after next season. It is unclear exactly how long James will continue to play in the league, but he certainly is even far closer than he is far closer to the end of his storied career.

Lakers Insider Jovan Buha recently provided his perspective on where the four-time NBA champion relationship lies with purple and gold.
“I mean, I want to note what I say about Bron’s relationship with the front office and the organization, but I’m totally honest now, I don’t think it’s in the best place right now,” Buha said during his appearance. “Buha’s Block” Podcast.
Rich Paul, founder and CEO of Klutch Sports, who represents James, told ESPN “We are closely monitoring the Lakers’ movements and whether the team is positioning themselves to supply this offseason to the title contending roster.”

Buha also highlighted the lack of “official statements” from the Lakers in the hours and days that followed when he exercised the player’s options.
“You know, there is no official statement that LeBron will choose, usually for players of that size,” Buha pointed out. “And he had his stuff on social media and what he posted, and there was clearly a statement when he opted in. So I don’t think things are in the best place ever.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, who spent the last 20 years since James’ career, suggested that he could be involved in the trade James placed on another team.
“When LeBron chose his contract four days ago, I would have said that he would have said there was no chance of him being traded. At the time, I didn’t think so,” Windhorst said last week on ESPN Cleveland. According to Real GM.

“I’m not saying there’s no chance after having a conversation for the past three or four days. That’s not to say there’s a chance, but I can’t responsibly say there’s no chance.”
The Lakers acquired Luka Donsic Through the shocking big hit trade in February. However, the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in April.
