“Well, the first thing we have to point out is to think about how we’re trying to get different results if we’re out of our comfort zone and continue to do the same,” Rivers told MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace on her podcast. “It’s not going to happen. It requires a change from the democratic side. I don’t know what that change is, but I know that the standard is not working. The standard was working on the popular vote, but within 50 years there are states that have not voted for the democratic side.
“We’re a party of existence [inclusive]everyone is included, right? But I remember Corey Booker, we’re working, and I ask him why all Democrats don’t agree with something because Republicans are doing it well. You have to see some of the things they do well. One thing they do is to get them lined up. They don’t care. When you hear some of these guys say about Trump and then hear them just talk, all they do is praise and they’re in line. But he said something interesting. He said we have so many groups on our side, we are not just white men. We all have them. And it’s very difficult for everyone to agree on one thing, but if you want to make a change, you have to start it. ”
Rivers said one of the things Democrats need to escape is the “Trump won” argument. He is similar to how he coaches a game if a team loses.

“I think we need to get rid of the “.” I’m serious. Trump has to do different things that we have to do in sports all the time,” he said.
“Yeah, we came in after the game we lost. But we say we lost, but if we can’t say, ‘They made a lot of shots’ and we lost, then we have to do these things differently. After that, we have to do something different to them.
Rivers said the bottom line didn’t get enough people to actually go out and vote.
“We didn’t put enough people out to vote,” he said. “It’s one thing. You have to start with yourself first. How can you fire yourself, there are more people who will vote, so you can vote more. We have to get them excited.

“We complain about black men. The majority of black men voted for Kamala, after all. It wasn’t the majority. It wasn’t enough. Why isn’t it? It feels hopeless in our community. Many black men now say it doesn’t matter. If we’re certainly looking at that part, that question.”
