Colorado Rockies In the midst of a terrible start to the 2025 season, they became the second team within a week to change the dugout.
The Rockies announced they have parted ways with manager Bad Black and bench coach Mike Redmond. 3 Base coach Warren Schafer was appointed interim manager, and Clint Hurdle was appointed interim bench coach.

“We’ve played so far this season, especially what has come out of the last two seasons, hasn’t been accepted,” Rockies team owner Dick Monfort said in a statement. “Our fans deserve better and we have better abilities. We all share responsibility for how this season unfolds, but these changes are necessary.
“The rest of 2025 can be used to improve potential locations on the field, evaluate all areas of operations, and properly turn the page into the next chapter of Rockies baseball.”

Colorado was embarrassing 21-0 loss To the San Diego Padres. The team returned 9-3 on Sunday. It was just the seventh victory of the season in 40 games. The opposing team had a field day against the Rockies. The team gap is -128. Colorado has only scored 133 runs this season.

Black took over as manager in 2017. He was 544-690 for over eight years.

The Rockies were the second team to fire a manager in the past seven days. The Pirates fired Derek Shelton early in the week.
